Rocktype Shale
Faces all
Chain of islands with height up to 25metres. Smoother and wave washed on seaward side, end of line shale on landward side, all pretty solid because it gets so much weather.
Calm seas definitely required.
A vessel is required. Dry bag swim is too dangerous (rescues have been needed in this area).
Can kayak from Boscastle.
Can paddle a surfboard from Rocky Valley.
Or shorter paddle from directly south of saddle rocks. To get to this area, take the coast path north from rocky valley and then you're looking for the almost non-existent paths just north of Trewethet cliffs (north), down the steep grassy slopes and easy angled black slabs to the sea.
