Rocktype Sandstone (hard)
Altitude 391m a.s.l
Faces S
Some big, and steep, faces around the site of the 'maison troglodyte'. Mixed rock with bands of pocketed sandstone interspersed with very pebbly sandstone conglomerate. The main faces are up to 30m high; good value routes!
From the road between Saverne and Dabo (D98c) Take a turning towards Haselbourg just south of the very pink hotel/restaurant. Go through the small village of Haselbourg towards Hellert and just after an abandoned sawmill on the left turn sharp right up a rough dirt track to a grassy parking area by a large noticeboard.
From gthe parking follow the good track (signposted Maison Troglodyte') for about 600m to a bend rightwards. Take a smaller path to the left (again signposted) for 150m to a viewpoint. Steps lead steeply down to the left (looking out) to arrive at the Secteur du Droite and the impressive cave houses.
From 1st February to 1st July NO CLIMBING to protect nesting birds. And no access to the afrea at the top of the crag (plentiful signs will remind you!).
There are no comments from visitors to this crag. |
