Shaw Hill (Bruce's camp) also known as hill of Crichie
The name Bruce's camp appears several times in the history books:
On the Hill of Crichie are the remains of an old Camp, where it is said King Robert lay before his victory over the Cummings on the Hill of Barra.
Bruce's Camp indicates an association with Robert the Bruce. There is a tradition that Bruce camped here prior to the Battle of Old Meldrum (1308).
