Tucked between the villages of Carmel and Pantasaph in North-East Wales, White Quarries is a quiet and secluded bouldering spot nestled in a disused limestone quarry. Named for its pale weathered faces, the quarry features solid rock with good friction and natural features - from sharp edges and pockets to smoother overhangs and slabs.
Parking
Park respectfully near the junction of Carmel Hill and Crecas Lane (postcode area: CH8, Flintshire). There is limited roadside space on Carmel Hill just before it meets Crecas Lane — please avoid blocking gates, driveways, or access tracks.
Approach (10 mins)
From the Carmel Hill–Crecas Lane junction, walk up Crecas Lane.
Straight ahead you’ll see a set of wooden steps leading into the woods beside a fence and a telegraph pole.
Climb the steps and immediately take the left fork, following a narrow but clear path along the field edge.
Continue along this path to a metal gate at the top of the rise.
Go through the gate and head straight up the grassy field passing over two wooden gates — you’ll soon see the quarry edge and trees ahead.
Enter the wooded quarry area through a natural break in the trees. You’ve arrived at White Quarries.
No access issues! Just stck to the footpaths and dont intrude or disturb any of the farm animals around on the adjacent fields!!
