Climbs 7
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 926m a.s.l
This distinctive limestone pillar is very visible from the motorway between Visp & Sion.
Park near (but not in) the parking for the Bhutan Bridge(time restictions). Theres loads of space a few mins down the road.
Walk to a cross the impressive bridge (popular with families) and follow the marked path down the hill to a junction. Take the unmarked left hand branch until a tiny cairn on the left indicates a smaller climbers path.
Pass a sign telling you about the peregrines and where not to climb. Carry on dodging fallen trees until you get to a large scree runnel. Cross this. Now the fun starts, follow vague steep paths up the hill dodging more fallen trees to the bottom of the wall. A big cave on the left is a useful landmark.
Nesting Pergrine Falcons. The classics are all fine, info hereĀ https://www.vogelwarte.ch/modx/assets/files/projekte/felsenbrueter/panneaux/PilierFinges_EN.pdf
