Crag features

Dolina Kobylanska is one of the most popular rock climbing areas near of Krakow in Poland. The Valley offers climbing condition (over 400 routes) for beginners and sport climbers (up to VI.6+). White limestone walls are mostly 15-20 meters high with three higher than 30 meters crags: Zabi Kon, Zjazdowa Turnia and Wronia Baszta. Over 230 routes are very well equipped but more than 200 lines are waiting for traditional climbers. Generally routes run at technical and vertical slab, with slippery two-, three-finger pockets and edge. Climbers who prefer overhangs can find them at Sepia Baszta. Climbing is possible from spring to autumn, even in hot summer there are shaded sectors. In many places rocks may be very polished. The most difficult routes are Rozgrzeszenie, VI.6+ at Zjazdowa Turnia (A.Marcisz, 1991) and Turek w Lazience, VI.6 at Turnia Dlugosza (J.Rozbicki, 2003). Equipment: rope 60 m, 15 quickdraws or long slings, friends and chock for traditional climbing.
