Crag features
The huge east face of Cima Catinaccio looms over the Val di Vajolet and dominates the skyline when you first arrive at Rifugio Gardeccia. You can't help but immediately notice the line of chimneys and cracks that split the largest part of the central face. It is here that the most famous climbing couple of their time, Hans Steger and Paula Wiesinger, climbed the face direct in 1929.
Approach notes
Take the Pera-Rifugio Gardeccia shuttle/taxi, and the wall is then clearly visible from Rifugio Gardeccia.
