This area of fine-grained granite lies just to the south of Cape Cornwall and marks the break from the north coast killas. It offers enjoyable short climbs in beautiful scenery and with a relatively short approach.
The best approach to the crag is from the summit of Carn Gloose, which is reached by road from St. Just; take the Cape Cornwall road and turn left almost opposite the cricket club. There is convenient parking at the road end. From the parking at Carn Gloose, walk north along the track between two granite gateposts for 30m. Look for a fisherman's path that leads down the right-hand side (facing out) of the northern outcrop, and then bear left to the edge of Cave Zawn.
The boulders at Priest's Cove can be reached from the large car park above the cove. Head to the boulder beach to the south of Cape Cornwall to find the boulders.
I can see how the confusion has arisen, but Astrol Stroll is not found at this crag. Tom Last - 20/Dec/10 |
