Crag features
Mount Arrowsmith is the largest mountain on southern Vancouver Island. Its dominant rock is basalt. It is a very popular easy mountaineering destination.
Restricted Access
Access is sometimes restricted due to high fire risk. In such a case, the private access roads will be gated and you are banned from the park. Please research before arranging a trip here - closure is usually reported via the news or Nanaimo council website/blog. Access was closed for the summers of 2009, 2015 and 2017 (possibly other years too).
