A small quarry, with a mix of grades. Old routes all regeared but need some cleaning over 30 new lines developed in early 2024. Pleasant setting, great on a sunny evening, needs a dry spell before a lot of the routes can be climbed.
From J28 of the M4, follow the A467 to a roundabout where the A4048 carries on and the A467 swings right. Follow the A467 to a second roundabout, take the right exit and turn right again. Take the second left into an estate and keep following this road up to where it veers right or branches left, parking near the bend in the road >Follow the left road over a street to a road behind houses, step up onto a ledge behind some fences and left into a field. Continue up along this track for 200m, to reach the quarry on the right.
Worth a visit, but verging on being over-developed, at least on the right-hand buttress. There's a risk of z-clipping on quite a few of the routes due to the closeness of the bolts. Some of the routes are also quite close together, which makes the lines feel eliminate or like you're straying onto another route. Props to the developers for all the effort. Just some things to be aware of. Adam_42 - 29/Apr/25 |
