Located over the country park in Rainham. Next door to the BMX track.
Smallish artificial rock face and archway offering some interesting overhang problems using heel and toe hooks. Arificial rock arch with a selection of easy and difficult climbs. Some interesting jump "dyno" starts as well as some good traversing route. Ideal for short everning session

Park in the car park off "Rainham Road". Located over the country park in Ingrebourne Hill Country Park, Rainham. Managed by the Forestry Commission and part of the Thames Chase Community Forest.
Access from the road is via A125 in South Hornchurch. Entrance to country park is opposite Anstead Drive.

Free car parking is available at the site.
Follow the path along the boundary of the houses and you'll come to the "Rock" about 5 minutes walk from the car park.
THE RAINHAM BOULDER NO LONGER EXISTS !!! - unfortunately it was involved in a fatal accident with a scooter which the local chavs decided to steal an then cremate under the fiber glass climbing arch - so alas essex is now officially the flattest damn county in england - gutted !!!!! oh well climbing wall here i come ! sorefingers - 21/Jun/09 |
