Vinales is a fantastically friendly, chilled out and safe place, don't be afraid to ask anyone about the climbing around the area, there are plenty of people who'll show you where you can and can't go, but for the most part access isn't an issue and wandering freely is unlikely to solicit a negative respose.

Cubans are really friendly, but expect to have to pay everyone for even the smallest service, even your new best friend who's shown you the way to the crag. They're not being rude, they just don't have much - but if you've got all the way to Vinales, you'll realise this by now!
