Easiest descent is to the west.
Approach notes
Button Slab is visible from the recommended car-parking (next to the bridge), but not from most of the approach. Follow the east side of the stream towards the crag, as the stream turns west follow it to good stepping stones across a joining stream. The next few hundred metres can be difficult, depending on how wet the base of the crater is. But after climbing a ridge the slab comes back into sight.
