Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19, please abstain from climbing outside.
At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving, but we feel this is no longer socially acceptable. You can read our statement here.
We have suspended the UKC Logbooks Top Ascents and Conditions pages and we will no longer accept ascents dated from 23rd March onwards. You can still upload your historic ascents.
Altitude 50m a.s.l
Guide time about 1 hour. Approach: Limited parking at SH741769.
Follow the public footpath through woods to where it heads up towards Pen Pyra. From here contour around the hillside across Access land to the start of the arête just above a stone wall (SH743780). 20 minutes.
|There are two ribs/ridges heading up to join each other on the hill, with the Penmaen Ridge (grade 1) taking the left-hand/eastern rib. Has anyone done an ascent of the right-hand (west) rib - the first you reach, if you approach via the campsite? It looks slightly harder, but good! We didn't head up it...|
