July 2020 update: the National Trust has informed the BMC that climbing is not allowed - we are currently investigating the reasons behind this and seeing if a solution is possible which addresses their concerns whilst allowing climbing.

Alderley Edge is a somewhat esoteric venue, but can offer some half decent climbing on average rock, if you are prepared to investigate. The rock is conglomerate and sandstone and can be dirty in places. Unspoilt, quiet and never busy. Worth taking a soft brush and cleaning the climbs as you go.

5m. In Church Quarry there are 2 obvious hanging aretes. This is the square-cut arete on the left side. It starts on the wall to the left until it is possible to reach the arete which is then climbed on the left-hand side.
