A collection of problems hidden on the slopes around the Allt a' Bhealaich on the south side of Strathconon, near Scatwell.
House Rules: At Landmark Roof, no feet on the big ledges on the back wall - use edges and flakes in the roof, otherwise it’s all a bit pointless.
Just after the entrance to Scatwell House, park considerately in a large passing place on the left 50m further on (grid ref NH 398 557). From here, walk about 200m west along the road until a track breaks off southwards uphill, opposite West Lodge cottage. Follow this track through the birchwood, passing old estate kennels, over a deer fence (stile beside gate) and then along the side of a spruce plantation. The track splits at the corner of the plantation. For The Barrel Boulder and Landmark Roof take the more minor left fork over a small stream. The Barrel Boulder is about 50m ahead on the right above the track. For Landmark Roof take the right fork uphill just before The Barrel Boulder. The track peters out into bracken after about 50m and Landmark Roof is another 30m above you in the trees. For Highball Wall, rather than taking the minor left fork at the plantation corner, stay on the main track steeply uphill for another 250m to the obvious broken crags on the right. Highball Wall is the obvious smooth wall low on the righthand side of these crags.
