300m. This ridge rises from only a couple of hundred feet above sea level to join the summit ridge a short way from the top. A large gully, ice at the time of ascent and about 50°, but probably snow at the end of most winters, cuts through the lower rocks. Take this avoiding the huge cornice at the top by rocks on the R, to a col on the ridge (probably 3 or 4 pitches but we moved together to the cornice). Descend slightly to reach the col proper after the cornice-avoiding maneuvers. The true ridge over to the R (looking up) looks a bit trickier although still climbable. From the col a short rocky step formed by huge detached flake gives the crux, reasonable gear placements. Above this, easy ground leads to the summit ridge. 2 hours.
