BADGER ROCK © adec73
Badger Rock / The Brock Stone is an isolated boulder located in a field near Kentmere Hall. A lovely setting, good problems and flat landings combine to make this a popular venue.
Problem names and info taken from Lake District Bouldering (2019) where possible. Problem numbers for Lake District Bouldering (2019), Rockfax Lakes Bouldering (2006) & Boulder Britain (2011 & 2020) are given in problem details.
Access is sensitive, please read the BMC RAD entry. Strictly no dogs please.
Access to Badger Rock is sensitive - please approach the boulder through the gate at the corner of the field only. If coming from 'Little Font', please do not try to shorten the approach by climbing over the dry stone wall between Badger Rock and Little Font. Considerable damage to the wall has been caused here by climbers doing this and the farmer is understandably unhappy with the situation. The BMC are working with the farmer to rebuild the wall but further damage may result in access permission being withdrawn. Strictly no dogs are allowed in the field.
