A large prominent boulder sitting in a prime position on a terrace above the tree line. Its aspect is mostly south and south west facing. Naturally very clean with no natural drainage, in an exposed position and getting all the sun that is going. Quick drying. The boulder is overhanging on all sides and landings are generally flat and good but with the odd smaller boulder strewn about that can be padded out well. Not boggy. A high potential bloc.
Park at the highest point on the B road that connects Ardentinny with loch Eck above the whistlefield hotel. Its an entrance to a forest road called Baron Macinturner. Follow the forest road on foot for 10-15 minutes through a quarry to the roads end. Turn right into the forest and follow an overgrown road to its end then open trails in a plantation to cross the fence onto open hillside. Head diagonally right uphill to reach the boulder.
