βeta: In current conditions, chimney pitch not obvious. Climb up until below a flat looking chockstone, then follow a thin crack on the right wall (helpful hooks on the opposite wall) via a couple of insecure back-and-foot moves until you reach the chockstone.

βeta: Description for the second pitch should read “Climb the steep but helpful chimney for 20m, move left into the gully line and continue into the amphitheatre mentioned in the summer description”.

WillHempstead 19 Mar AltLd O/S Chimney pitch is really cool. Last pitch is fantastic, nowhere near as hard as it looks from the belay!

Steven Andrews 15 Dec, 2019 AltLd Brilliant route. Maybe found the third pitch hardest (And this was maybe because there wasn't much sign of a through route, maybe snowed in, so i climbed straight up not far after the guillotine using foot ledges on the right and a thin crack system on the left wall - quite a struggle with a rucksack on - eventually surmounting a small chock stone and the continuing upwards till a tricky step right landed me in the base of the final chimney rather than on the ledge below it. All very exciting). The final pitch is intimidating but not too bad once you commit to the moves round the roof.

Flatland 12 Dec, 2019 AltLd O/S Late start, plus terrible snow conditions on the approach, meant we did most of the difficult climbing by head torch. Climbed in 5 pitches with p4 (chimney pitch) much more difficult than implied in the guidebook. Left the car at 9am, topped out at 8pm and got back to the car at 11pm. Almost an epic.

French Erick 9 Dec, 2018 - Went off route from p2 belay. brought me to p3 belay. I led 60m to the top of the hard climbing...rope drag did not allow me to go direct so managed to bypass it on the right pulling hard. conditions surprisingly good- hoar and frozen turf!

guitarshane 21 Feb, 2018 AltLd O/S Absolutely brilliant, varied climbing, interest on every pitch and great situations, best mixed route I've done so far. In excellent lean condition today. Crux is half way up top pitch, awkward and off balance and a bit of verglass made it hard to protect, there is now a welded in bulldog. The moves tackling the roof at the top were amazing, great gear, solid torques and hooks and what a position!
