Rockfax Description
A classic Borrowdale extreme that weaves up the lower buttress and finishes on the bald headwall. Start at the arete right of the large corner of The Shroud.
1) 4c, 11m. Climb the arete to a ledge and belay.
2) 5b, 14m. Move right to twin blocks. Climb the corner and, at an overhang, pull right and ascend the wall to a ledge and belay.
3) 6a, 30m. Climb up right and make a tricky move onto a ledge. An intricate and commiting traverse right leads between the overhangs. At the end move up onto the headwall to small ledges (good wires). Climb up left to some tiny undercuts, step right and make some pressing moves up the final wall to easier ground. Tree belay. Abseil off. © Rockfax
