New access issues have arisen for Griffs Buttress, Black and Decker buttress and any other crags over the fence. Please DO NOT CLIMB here until the landowner has been contacted to try and arrange an access agreement.Please note: the BMC RAD database has not been updated since the new issues have arisen - the banner below, noting that there are no access issues, is incorrect.
Approach notes
Griffs Buttress, Black and Decker buttress, and all other crags on the other side of the roadside fence are currently banned at the request of the landowner. Please do no cross the fence or climb at these crags.
Restricted Access
Recent (June 2022) signage has been installed by the landowner indicating that they do not wish crags on the west side of the dale (Griff's, Black & Deckout, etc.) to be climbed on. Please avoiding visiting these areas while attempts at negotiation are ongoing.
