Brela is located high up on the hillside, in a beautiful setting. Turn off for Donja Brela and follow signs from shortly after the school and fire station. These point to a walking route (10 mins) to access the the gravel path running below the crag (the French Road) and to a driving route to the French Road. There are parking areas at either end of the crag and signs indicating paths up to the crag. A couple of the main areas get a topo sign of their own. If you're going to the left half of the crag, walk along and head up the marked path at the far left end - the path directly under the crag is tricky going. The cafe near the fire station has good clean toilets.
Wow, this place is really great, and deserves some traffic. If you're on a visit along this bit of coast, maybe Split or Omis, it's well worth the drive- particularly as you'll get a view of what Croatia's largest mountain is like! Sparrowmonkey - 14/Sep/13 |
