Brighstone Sown is a gentle chalk down to the S of the Isle of Wight. It is possible to drive to the to the top along the green roads of the island, but it should be resisted.
The Longstone is 4m high overhanging to the west, Made fromĀ gritty Greensand beds nearby.
Various paths in various directions meet at the Longstone
Brighstone Down is easily reached from a variety of directions as is the Longstone a mile or so to the SW. Beware the latter is on NT land near a holiday cottage and it's a scheduled monument. Don't damage it and don't steal the coins or mess with peoples ashes or their sacrifices.
