Brough Scar © Lankyman
A fierce but minor outcrop on the ridge above Brough and after local discussion is currently being retro bolted so hopefully it will get more attention. The situation is delightful, the routes short but pack in a punch. Many of the routes previously relied heavily on insitu threads for protection.
Topo available on the FRCC Web site.
In the village of Brough take the road signed Helbeck Quarry and follow the road uphill to park at the quarry entrance, making sure not to block access. Continue on foot up the track past the entrance to a small quarry by a big tree. Pass the tree and follow the faint path under several broken buttresses before heading up to the main buttress. 20mins.
