Granite walls providing fingery, edgy climbing on a vertical or slightly overhanging profile. Many routes are chipped, but the setting ir fairly pleasant.
The routes offer interesting and generally sustained climbing on good rock at a variety of grades (that may often feel tough). The western quarry provides the best climbing.
15min. Parking at 57.070035, -2.98387, then follow the path past a "danger electricity overhead" sign, going around a lockd gate and on for 20m to where the main path bends right. Leave this and follow along the wide footpath for 5 min or 440m to pass under electricity lines. Continue and when the path forks take the right one (straight) going diagonally uphill until the western quarry is reached.
Seems like a tall persons crag and the bolting could be better/safer, but I thoroughly enjoyed the technicality and style of the climbing. freudy_love - 25/May/15 |
