A remote crag in a wild and beautiful setting with many superbly situated fine climbs.
Faces south and the gneiss dries relatively quickly. The lower tier routes are generally not in the same league as the many fine routes in the upper tier, except for perhaps Balaton.
Approach slopes can be tick infested so check well after a visit during the summer months.
Very remote and best enjoyed in a multi day trip. The walk from (57.763956, -5.601314) takes about 4hrs, cycling reduces it to 3-3.5hrs.
Better still is to paddle across Loch Maree and walk in via the Beinn Lair col. This reduces the walk-in considerably.

Had just the best time climbing here for an extended trip. A few words and some photos here http://wainwrightclimbing.blogspot.com/2018/06/five-days-in-fisherfield-forest.html Samuel Wainwright - 13/Jun/18 |
