A wee cave tucked away between the headland and coastal rock. Provides some steep problems on generaly good rock but beware of loose stuff as traffic has been low thus far.
There are a few obvious sit starts and eliminates to be climbed on the main face as well as steep potential further in the cave. There are also some highball lines to be tried for someone who's in to that kind of thing :)
On the approach before reaching this cave, about half way down the grass access ramp there is another cave of more broken red quartzite. There is some steep potential here but will likely require a good bit of block dislodging to be made climbable.
Park on the Portknockie side of the cemetary between Portknockie and Findochty along the coastal road. There is a layby just before the house next to the cemetary with space for a good few cars.
From here walk through the field towards the walking path and turn right (towards Portknockie). A couple of minutes walking will find the goarse on the left clearing to reveal a headland. Follow this to the cliff edge along a trodden path before dropping right down a steepish grass slope. The upper cave will be visible on the right.
Follow the faint path down this ramp to reach a stone beach. Turn left and the main cave will be in front of you on the right in a cleft between the headland and a coastal detachment.
