Small Bouldering venue
Dries quickly and catches most of the sun.
Approach notes
Park at the end of the Glen Afton road just past the Waterworks
Walk up towards the dam then take a footpath right up the hill to reach the castle. The Borg boulder is 100 yards further along the hill. The Snarky boulder is directly down the hill just above the tree line with the puppy boulder just a few yards from that on the return to the car park. All boulders 15 mins max from the car park.
Access Advice
At some point since mid August 2024 a section of mesh fencing has been placed across the stile on the access path from the car park at the reservoir as you approach The Castle. This may be to stop dogs which are being walked off lead from being able to use the stile to jump into the field which all the boulders sit in and which contains some grazing sheep.
