Take the Cristillan valley NE of Celliac village and follow it SE for approximately 9km. About 1.5 km past Pont (Bridge) du Bergerie du Bois Noire, you will see two prominent ice falls on the north face at 2300m. Take the right hand ice climb. It comprises two pitches, the first of 4 and the second of 4+. Belay on screws and abseil down from abolocovs. It is advisable to ski in. The route has a large snowy bowl above it: beware the avalache risk.
With the long approach, remote setting and high mountain ambiance, this makes a great day out for those wishing to escape the occasionally crowded ice falls immediately above the village.
