Climbs 8
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 2515m a.s.l
Faces SW
The single hiking route to the summit 2515m is a blue-white-blue path with a c.100m long, very easy and very well equipped klettersteig (via ferrata) making a rising traverse from the Chaisertor 2338m along the first part of the north-west ridge, with moderate exposure. The last part of the ridge to the summit is a straightforward walk, no difficulties. The final approach to the Chaisertor also has a short cable / step section. An SAC Wanderskala grade of T4 is appropriate for the route, competent scramblers should not require klettersteig gear.
There are 7 well-equipped multipitch sport climbs of mostly 5 to 6 pitches on the south-west face described in Plaisier Ost 2015, possibly in more recent editions too.

The popular Lidernenhutte 1729m to the north east makes an obvious base. The nearby 5 person (seats for 4!) / 450 kg, somewhat primitive cable car at Gitschen 1718m from Käppeliberg 1178m in the Riemenstaldner valley makes a day trip feasible for 16 Fr (cash!), but be prepared to wait in the rush-hour (see Luftseilbahn Chäppeliberg-Spilau, www.spilau.ch). Parking is 5 Fr (cash or parking app) with limited spaces. Since 2022 there is public transport minibus up the valley (single track paved road, windy, bumpy), see the aforementioned website also for a timetable link.
