Covid-19

At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving. Please proceed with caution though.

Downgraded to F8a following several repeats.
Cunning use of body tension should get you round the roof (as per normal this means heel and toe hooks galore)
Spicy section just above overhang, leads to a powerful finish on slightly polished footholds...

Ticklists

Cheddar Eight's, Top 10 hard Bristol Ticks, South West 8's, UK 8a and up

tobydunford 30 Jun Lead RP Massively pleased to get this super route on the last eve before south side closes. Can't agree with bad bolting comments on here, and i'm only little! Done in 2 proper sessions, 6th redpoint. So many good moves, especially getting around the roof. Yes Cheddar!!

J1_TOV 30 Jun Lead RP 5th RP. It's just 9 or 10 moves, 2 of which are the most amazing moves you'll find in Cheddar. Such an under-rated line. Technically powerful or powerfully technical. You choose.

tobydunford 26 Jun Lead dnf Awesome moves through the roof, being shorter with flexible hips and some deep drop knees felt very beneficial. Will be back for this, hopefully before the ban.

ricci.andrea86 ? Jun Lead dog hard boulder over the roof. Attempting in 30deg weather didn't help. bolting on the crux is terrible.

Eder 15 May Lead O/S Great climbing, in my favourite style (slopey crimps!). Managed to onsight but the bad bolting almost spoilt it. Basically the crux of the whole route was putting the clips in i.e. huge reaches from ok holds to the bolts. There was a particularly scary/dangerous clip of the fixed quickdraw. I couldn't reach from the obvious clipping holds under the roof and had to clip from the slopey gaston- I thought this was so unnecessary. Climbing difficulty shouldn’t be based on how hard it is to clip. I really think the bolting of this route should be reconsidered. Especially now that climbing is a kids game.
