Situated to the south of Gran Paradiso and Tresenta, Ciarforon is a snow dome encircled by a distinctive rock band on the northern aspects. Routes exist on most sides but the normal route is up the Northeast Ridge (left skyline from the Vittorio Emanuele II Hut).
Approach notes
From the Vittorio Emanuele II Hut, head southeast across glaciated slabs and glacier or head east along the moraine and bear south across the glacier.
