The Cidrão inferior sector was the first area to be explored and developed for bouldering on Madeira. There is a good selection of basalt boulders following the river in the bottom of the valley. Due to the surrounding mountains the bouldering areas stay shaded most of the day. The boulders generally take 1 to 2 days to dry out once wet, although some of them in more vegated areas may take up to 5 days. The landings are mostly flat.
2 minutes from the parking and bus stop. Upon reaching the bridge, walk about 5 meters and descend towards the river. Once inside the valley, the trails leading to the boulders are quite technical, so we recommend wearing appropriate footwear.
None at present. Don't pick the fruit
