Crag features
High mountain spot, suited for the hot summer days. The west faces of the avant-corps of the Giardonera are mainly unexplored and just a few routes are established here. The rock is a generally good gneiss, with cracks, diehdrals, grooves and slabs.
Approach notes
From Vonzo take the track to Chiapili and then follow to "Alpe Vassola". Enter the valley and continue on the track that ascend on the right side of the valley (faceing the mountain). Cross the stream on an equipped ford, ascend now on the left side and reach the apper part of the Vassola valley. The Giardonera walls are on the right now. Reach the "Alpe del Veilet" (bivouc), then take a small track that traverse toward right below short walls, crossing screes and fields up to the point where the South avant-corp wall is directly above. Ascend the scree to the base (at least 3h from Vonzo).
