Plymouth's finest 'bolted' crag lies behind trees in the kids' play area. Sadly the bolts are huge ones placed by the council to stabilise the face and secure netting over it. There are only two recorded 'up routes' and both of these were top-roped. Rambles After Dark was climbed at dusk to avoid detection and involved belaying off a Morris Marina parked above the crag. Some Holds are Bigger than Others climbed slopey territory behind the right-hand tree.
All is not lost because the base still provides some bouldering interest.
The wall is located at the back of West Hoe Park behind the playground. Cliff Road lies immediately above the crag.
been using this as a little training venue whilst everything's closed, but it would be super useful to have some descriptions added to have some idea of what's going on....not really sure why there are a whole bunch of never-climbed routes within descriptions in the Upper Wall section either, could these just be removed? chrisweight - 12/Nov/20 |

Could we have some more details please? It'd be great to know where all these problems are. Please.... andy_pemberton - 09/Sep/17 |

Totally overgraded, I though plymouth grading was supposed to be sandbagging! Descriptions missing as well. Topo? wiwwim - 06/Oct/16 |
