A few nice blocs requiring a long dry spell, but with some terrific grit-like problems on pebbles, rough slopers and crimps. It is an esoteric wee venue, so do take note the crags face north and are green after rain and may need cleaning to get the best out of them.
Bus to Faifley and walk up paths. Or by car, take the A82 west out of Glasgow through Drumchapel to the Kilbowie roundabout at Duntocher, just west of the Braidfield Hotel. Take the north Hardgate exit and follow the road uphill to Hardgate roundabout. Take the first exit west and then immediately right (at the pub) up Cochno Road (if you go past the petrol station you've gone too far). Go steeply uphill for 1km to open country and a fork in the road, bearing right past Cochno farm and houses for 600m to a sudden right turn, then turn left into a large tarmaced parking area shared with the a park. The blocs are very close under a small bluff at the south end of the parking, obscured by forestry in summer, but obvious in winter.
Pretty green and mossy. Otherwise could be a cool wee spot. Nick_Scots - 02/Aug/22 |
