Hidden secret. First known climbers Colin Threlfall who told Mke Lates who got the broad LH fall climbed in 2 stints 25 Dec96 and 7 Jan 97.
Mick Fowler & Dave Turnbull made the 2nd ascent 2009.
This year things were too thin 1st jan, Andy Huntington & Mike Lates climbed the upper half of the LH central icefall above the terrace on the 4th then Martin Welch and Mike Lates climbed the 2nd line from the left to give Scamadamadingdong.
Sat 9th, the next day, saw Robin Clothier & Doug Hawthorn pick off the plum line of the broad sheet at the RHS. Robin considered it Canadian III, 5 whatever that means but, more importantly texted Nick Harper to tell him he's just missed out on the best ice climb in Britain! Ally Fulton, James Sutton & Ben Wear made the 3rd ascent of the LH Fall with a short direct finish R of the original corner.
On the Sunday Robin & Doug reached the huge hanging cigar 3rd from left by a hidden corner that was thin but good rock gear just where it mattered. The ice was very dry that dy and some very large lumps were removed before Doug blasted up in incredible style according to the Skye boys who were engrossed in their own battle with The War Path. Ally was worried he hadn't left enough ice on the previous days attempt but things held together. They then tackled the top 70m pitch which proved even steeper as it rose up past some huge umbrellas in the final section.
Tuesday morning had a warm blip which stopped further advances but not had news back from today yet.
