Buttresses and faces along the shore of Colt Crag Reservoir.
Some good sound lines on good rock - some natural faces some quarried.
Crag pictures shows the high water level.
Rock is exposed during hot periods.
The reservoir is managed by Northumbrian Water and there are no known access problems. People walk and fish (permit required) around the waters edge.
Parking is viable either side of the main forest track where there is a sign for Northumbia Water Colt Crag but the road is fast and can be surpisingly busy so take care if poarking here.
A much larger layby is located 1km south.
The public footpath actually goes through the field before joining the forest track but be very aware of the fast moving cars and lorries.
The footpath is marked on the OS maps to the area.
The A68 is a fast road. Park well off the road and be watchful of fast cars and lorries.
