Bloc Zissou © bruce
Bloc Zissou is a beautiful, rough metamorphic boulder in a smashing seaside setting. A gem of a place to get lactic outrage in the forearms, followed by a reviving ocean dip. Porpoise action can occasionally be viewed at high tide. Mostly non tidal and protected by a sea stack from rough seas. Best on a low tide.
Found by Ernie and developed by Steve Pack and Bruce Kirby.
Park at the National Trust car park for Little Dartmouth. Follow the track to coastal path and turn left. After ~200m there is a grassy field which slopes down to a stile. Over the stile the boulder, backed by a small sea stack and is clearly visible below. At low tide follow the narrow path to right and down steps. Boulder hop and scramble back left to block. At high tide down climb an easy groove below stile.
