Crack Caves is the upper tear of a rather large cave/ mine system that (depending upon who to believe) dates back as early as the Vikings.
Although much of the rock is damaged by fires, there are some great problems around the supports at the cave openings up to 12m high
and can be a great spot for the rainy days.
Current problems range from V0 - V6
Ethical climbers only please. Take all your rubbish home and any other litter you can fit in your bin bag. Local wildlife (including Polecats) are suffering.

Hey! Just noticed this picture. I've done loads of problems here (my wife is from Billinge). I'll try and write them up. It's a good spot and apparently a tunnel extended to the Sue Ryder old folks home from the back (scarcely believable). Toccata - 24/Oct/08 |
