Rocktype Sandstone (hard)
Altitude 300m a.s.l
Faces S
A two tiered sandstone outcrop a steep hike up the hill above Torridon village.
Park near the school. Battle your way up the hill. One guidebook suggests a direct approach up the boulders, another suggests going out the back of the school and finding a way through the gorse...good luck with either, particularly in summer!
The guidebooks say the approach time is 30min for the altitude of 270-300m on a very rough and pretty steep terrain, negotiating unstable rock, heather, and bracken. 45min or longer is realistic.
Protected by a very steep slope, very dense spiky plants, and a tick-infested sea of bracken. Basically, don't go there in August.
