Crag features

Great bouldering on coarse mountain rock. The highballs are a bit dirty. Some climbs done by E. Jones in the 70s.

Approach notes

Park in a U-shaped layby opposite Moel Dyrnogydd. Walk in to Upper Tier: 15-20mins from car to boulders.

Walk along the main road with the crag on your right to a stile. Follow the public footpath (v. boggy), pass a waterfall, then you'll see a scree slope and a bend in the path. Up the slope going back on yourself, you'll arrive at the Headstone boulder, and further left is the highball Forked lightening slab. The other boulders are a bit further up and you'll see Diamond slab when you top out onto the plateau. The others are easy to find.

A grassier option is to go up the hill at the earlier waterfall, which brings you to The aretes, and further left Pink velcro slab (facing south).

Getting to the Valley Boulders is another 5-10 min walk from the bend in the footpath, crossing a stone wall and a stream. Getting to the far-right boulders is 5 mins from the bend, keep walking on the footpath to another stile and you'll see some slate boulders ahead (to be climbed)
