Can seep so dry days are best. On the other hand it gets very hot in the sunshine.

On the right wing of the crag there are two rare Rock Whitebeam trees, these are some of the only remaining Rock Whitebeam in the Yorkshire Dales and likely represent a genetically distinct population. They are close to the routes Nettle Rash, Britvic Fifty-five and Mettle Nettle. Climber have been reported as damaging one of these by pruning. Under no circumstance should these trees be climbed on or pruned further, regardless of any encroachment onto routes. If climbing and free growth of these trees is not compatible then the affected routes will have to be banned.

10m. Buttress 15m left of Silk Purse. At the left-hand edge of this buttress climb the narrow cracked slab directly behind the large elder tree staying close to its left edge on good rock (The Good). At the break level with the big leaning tombstone to the right, move right slightly and climb the front of the pilar on the left side of the buttress until you are level with a single ring bolt directly below a prominent dead tree at the top of the crag. Traverse right into an alcove and clip this. There are two large suspect hollow blocks at the top of the pillar that should be avoided (The Bad). Once you have clipped the bolt finish anywhere up grass and loose rock (The Rubbly) or lower off. Well protected.
