Approach notes

Take an OS map. Park carefully on Sleight Lane (northof Crosscombe).

Went with friend mid Sep 09. Take v seriously the Guidebook's notes on the nettles. They were about 10ft tall and after 30mins of hacking through with a stick, we gave up. You need gardening equipment and long sleeves/trousers to get access during spring/summer/autumn!

Guidebooks

Lots of loose rock on the face and at the top but the crag bottom is in good condition and worth a visit before those nettles come back!

Some great climbs. Muddy on the deck and still overgrown towards the top, but rock is in good condition.

Yeah they are I got stung twice on the route and took my first fall on gear

Some local lads plus Deepstar and myself have been doing the 'restoration'. The last time i was there ( Sept) i sat on a wasps nest at the top and got excessively stung :( Maybe theyre still pissed off!!

Great job to whom ever tidied up the area, great climbs. however be careful as there is a wasp nest 4/5 of the way up the rock face. I would recommend a bee hive suit to climb at the moment; they are vicious!

A couple of locals have been tidying up. Access to the crag is pretty decent at the moment and a lot of loose crap has been removed from the top. A few lovely little climbs here :-)

In relatively good nick at the moment. Everything left of P45 is reachable with no nettle bashing necessary.

At the top of the crag is a tumbled down dry stone wall and barbed wire fence. One of the fence posts is an old railway sleeper with some waymarking signs on it,the best place to abseil in is from a tree just back from a flat topped rock 10m`s right of the sleeper.
deepstar - 16/Aug/12
Excessively vegetated as of June 2008, with no obvious approach to the cliffs.
