475m. For the beginner alpinist this is an absolute classic especially if it’s done in a day.
Although the ridge proper doesn’t start until the Dossenhutte the approach involves around 600m of scrambling/via Ferrata so you really are moving in the mountains all day.

The first section of the Grat is generally quite straight forward and is more a via ferrata than alpine route with plenty of fixed cables should you need them. After the Sattle however things become much more interesting with very few bits of in-situ gear and route finding difficulties.

Coming back down the second section of the Grat to the Sattle was a bit of a nightmare and as it turns out the 2008 Plaisir Alpin guidebook suggests coming down the normal route.
