Crag features

A spread out series of boulders dot the hillside of Down Tor, conveniently located west of the popular Norsworthy Bridge parking at the far end of Burrator reservoir. Normally combined with a trip to Cuckoo Rock / Combeshead Tor. This is rapidly becoming a very worthwhile venue for the low to mid grade boulderer - of which there isn't that much on the moor.

Approach notes

Park at Norsworthy Bridge at the far end of Burrator reservoir and follow the obvious path eastwards, initially across grassy fields, to climb up to the Tor proper.

Someone took a massive dump under the Overhanging Wall. It's been there at least a month. Probably take all winter to get rid of it.

Hi Folks, Many of the listed problems have been climbed before. I had a sketch topo of some of the main problems from 99/00 or so although that is sadly well lost and there is plenty more information available here. There will be a topo in the upcoming CC guide to Dartmoor. If anyone who climbs here regularly wants to have some input then please contact me. Thanks. James

Hi I did quite a lot of these problems back in 2007-2010 with a few mates. Any one fancy a boulder to get some more pics and go through the routes?

By next year this will be a more popular crag than coombeshead...
