Crag features

Eaval has a large NW face with many small slabby outcrops high up and some steeper but vegetated and often wet rock low down. The best rock is on the clean rib just SW of the summit, but there are many scrambling non-lines below and left of this. The top part of the NE Ridge has a nice grade 1 scramble just right of the path. An ill-defined gully joins the ridge just before it steepens, and right of this  (looking out) are some nice grade 2 slabs with a steeper outcrop above (mod by the obvious left slanting groove).

Approach notes

A good track leads from Locheport road end, going over some stepping stones (wet feet at high tide), round the east end of Loch Obasaraigh and up the broad NE ridge. The higher buttresses are best approached from above using this.

An alternative rout can be taken across the moor from Cladach Carinish road end and up a wide gully on the west face. The path here is non-existant in places.
