Climbs 60
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 918m a.s.l
Esler Bluffs are a collection of east and west facing limestone bluffs with bolted routes. They are predominantly single pitch with a few multi pitch climbs on 'The Backside'. There are 8 different areas which have a range of grades.
From Williams Lake at the Highway 20/97 junction continue straight through the lights onto Highway 20. After About 4.1km turn right on Hodgson Road. After about 3.6km turn right on a gravel road, there is a small BC Hydro substation just before the gravel road. Follow a series of dirt roads about 6.3km up towards the crag, see http://rockclimbpg.ca/climbing-areas/esler/ or the local guidebook for a map of reaching the crag from the turn off. To drive to the base of the crag a 4x4 would be useful as the track gets quite rough on the final stretch. There is a small pull in before this point that most cars could access when it's dry weather. Minimal approach time from parking up to each climbing area, around 1-10 mins depending on which area.
