A 70m high sandstone tower, an hour west of Riyadh. A small number of traditional climbs have been established on the pillar all of which have their fair share of loose rock. However, there is usually enough decent protection and there are bolted belays on the two popular routes (Chimney Route and Standard Route).
Some careful navigation is required to cross the desert once the main road is left behind. Drive slowly and aim to park to the north west of the pillar beneath a long ridge leading to the base of the pinnacle.
